Purchase Reusable Air Filters

Do your part to help save room in landfills by springing for the more expensive "reusable" air filters. Changing them each time it's needed means that you could potentially go through several filters during the time that you own your car.

A reusable air filter is cleanable so that you can use it again. They may be a little more expensive than non-reusable filters, but you'll save money in the long run because you won't have to purchase it again.

A reusable air filter helps with your engines performance because it is cleanable. You don't have to budget in a new one, when the technician can simply wash it, dry it out with an air hose and then replace it. You'll gain a slight improvement in horsepower and acceleration if the air filter is cleaned on a regular basis.

The non-reusable air filters tend to get neglected, and when gunk and grime fill the filter, your vehicle's performance suffers because it's not getting the proper air flow.

Have a Performance Chip Installed

Manufacturers install computer chips in all new cars that they make. These chips tell the engine the amount of horsepower and torque displacement that's allowable. Torque gets trapped in a traditional exhaust system. Free up the torque and gain horsepower by commissioning a professional to install a catalyst-back exhaust system. The wider exhaust pipes provide less restriction on these types of mufflers. The exhaust's back pressure is lower, allowing the horsepower to increase significantly.
